I can say much about this topic. But lets start here.
I don’t have a earthly father. Not that he is dead, he just didn’t want me. Then all the others didn’t want me, and the one that might have wanted me, had a daughter of his own so why need two? And a bonus not even my father-in-law liked me. Yay me! But let me share the good news!
So I always knew God was my Father, but I didn’t know. Let me explain.
It was always hard to build a relationship with God because they say He is like your earthly father (in a way) so I never had a good relationship with any of the “father” figures in my life so it was difficult with God. But I never didn’t believe in Him, I knew there is a God and that Jesus died for me. It was just hard. Until I’ve read Girl with Swords, which is funny that last father figure I had bought me that book.
I never read the book until now. I’m 27. I’ve only finished it now. But I have read something so beautiful that Miss Lisa Bevere wrote in her book. She was sad that her father didn’t want her and she described how she laid on the carpet crying and she said that the sound she heard could only be described as God laughing (man how I wished I can hear that), and she got up wondering “why”? And in that passage she wrote that God said (and I’m not using her exact words, I would need to ask permission first so I’m paraphrasing) that her father’s loss was His gain. God’s gain! The moment her father abandoned her, God adopted her. It was so beautiful to read!
And that was when it became more real for me that I AM ADOPTED! I have a Father. My Father is in heaven and He is the God above all else. A King!
‘he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, ‘
Ephesians 1:5
Good news, you don’t have to be abandoned by your earthly father to be God’s child. God loves all of us. And we are all adopted into Christ family when Jesus came to die for you. You just have to believe it, and then remember that you are not alone and by faith your Father WILL look after you.
‘But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, ‘
John 1:12
God created everything and you are more precious than any of that, that is how much God loves you as His daughter.
‘Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. ‘
Matthew 10:31 (ESV)
Believe it!
Love,
Your Sister in Christ
